About Cameron

Cameron Cave is an actor based in NYC. He’s worked on Off-Broadway stages and in front of the camera with filmmakers around New York. He trained at NYU Tisch and graduated with a degree in Drama.

Cameron started acting when he joined his highschool’s competition drama troupe, performing musicals and snippets of plays around Florida. At the time, he was committed to go to Tulane University to study psychology and pre-med, but because of his interest and local successes in theater he decided to pursue acting full time. He transferred to NYU Tisch after a year of performing in university and regional productions in New Orleans.

At NYU, Cave studied stage and film craft with some of the leading professionals in NYC including Olympia Dukakis, Byron Easley, Michele Shay, Cormac Bluestone and Kent Gash. He also studied clown work with Orlando Pabotoy, now head of Physical Acting at The Juilliard School. He attributes his ability to thrive in both performative and naturalistic styles to his time at NYU.

During the pandemic, because of shut downs in the local theater industry, Cave started to search out and book more jobs with young creative filmmakers around the city. Most notably, he was cast in Jasiel Louison’s Reverie inspired by John William Godward’s 1904 painting ‘Reverie.’ He played Robert White, an up-and-coming painter in early 60s. The film premiered at the Metrograph in Manhattan in 2022.

During this time he also played Benno, an Italian Baron bachelor, in the inaugural Off-Broadway production of ‘Swan Lake Rock Opera’ as well as Bob, a ballroom dancing computer scientist in ‘Magic: The Dance Musical’ which opened and closed at the Wall Street Theater. He just finished a run as the heartfelt and troubled male lead, Elliot, in the new Off-Broadway psychological drama-romance play ‘Aftershocks’ at Theater for the New City.

When he’s not acting, Cameron sings with the New York City Community Chorus and plays in bands around the city; artists include Caroline Elise(Guitar/Bass), Jacob Sins(Drum set), Bryan Freedman(Guitar), and Zero Views(Guitar).
